Trusting God When Life Doesn’t Make Sense
May 30, 2025

Introduction

Life is full of uncertainties. There are moments when the pieces don’t seem to fit, when prayers feel unanswered, and when the path ahead looks blurry. In those moments, trusting God can feel like the hardest thing to do—but it’s also the most powerful step of faith we can take.

Faith Isn’t About Knowing Everything

As believers, we often want clear answers: why something happened, when our breakthrough will come, or how things will work out. But Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Faith doesn’t require full understanding; it requires full surrender.

God Sees the Bigger Picture

From Joseph in the prison to David in the wilderness, Scripture is filled with people who didn’t understand their present, but who trusted God with their future. What looked like delay was actually preparation. What felt like rejection was divine redirection.

Your current confusion may be the setup for your calling.

Three Ways to Strengthen Your Trust in God

  1. Immerse Yourself in the Word
Let Scripture be your anchor. Even when emotions waver, God’s promises stay firm.

  2. Pray Honestly and Consistently
God isn’t intimidated by your doubts or questions. Invite Him into your struggle.

  3. Remember Past Faithfulness
Keep a journal of answered prayers or past victories. What God did before, He can do again.

Conclusion

You may not understand the “why” behind your current situation, but you can trust the “Who” that holds your future. God is not absent; He is working behind the scenes, writing a story bigger than you can imagine.

So take a deep breath. Release the worry. And choose today—despite what you see—to trust the One who never fails.

Prayer

Lord, help me to trust You even when life doesn’t make sense. Remind me of Your faithfulness, hold my heart in Your hands, and lead me on the path You’ve set before me. I surrender every fear, every question, and every plan to You. Amen.
